I was browsing through my photo albums the other day, when I came across these photos from one of my visits to the historic city of Cambridge. Along with York and Bath, Cambridge is generally acknowledged to be one of the most beautiful cities in the UK. It is the home to one of the best universities as well as some of the finest architecture in the world. Hope you will enjoy this short trip and possibly visit there or even study. Click on the individual photos for a short description.

As its name suggests, King’s College Chapel is the chapel to the King’s College at the University of Cambridge. A magnificent example of late Gothic architecture, it was started in 1446 and finished a century later by Henry VIII – the nasty bloke infamous for having his wife beheaded each time he fancied someone else.
The world’s biggest fan vault and one of the most beautiful stone ceilings in existence. The atmosphere of the Chapel has to be experienced.
It also features some of the finest late medieval stained glass.
The inner court of the King’s College. If only theese walls could talk, what stories would they have told?
Built around 1130, the Round Church is one of Cambridge’s oldest buildings.
The River Cam along which some of the most famous Cambridge colleges are situated. I remember feeding swans a couple of meters away. No time for a punting tour, though.
I thought this one was rather amusing. Constantly having to answer your neighbuor’s door might put a slight strain on good-neighbourly relations.
